After three years of extensive research and development, the EU-funded SIMAR Project is set to revolutionize industrial pipe inspections. This initiative has successfully created an end-to-end system that streamlines the entire process, from initial mission planning to post-inspection data analysis.
A key feature of the platform is its ability to create a detailed blueprint for an inspection, which is then distributed to all robotic assets. During the mission, a drone pilot and inspector can use a HoloLens to visualize live data, offering unprecedented insight during data capture. Once the inspection is complete, all data is uploaded to an online platform for analysis and is even made available for observation through an augmented reality (AR) application.
