Founded in 2015 by a group of major energy asset owners, SPRINT Robotics has grown into an internationally recognized platform for Inspection and Maintenance Robotics, supported by a network of over 130 organizations worldwide.

Writer/Editor – Robotics Knowledge & Standards Development

 

In this role you support the development of industry best practices, codes, and technical standards in robotics and artificial intelligence for inspection and maintenance (I&M). You engage with industry experts and technical committees to translate real-world practice into structured, consensus-based guidance, best practices and standards.

You facilitate the standards of development lifecycle, from drafting and consultation through public comment and final publication, ensuring rigor, transparency, and alignment with governance requirements.

You combine strong technical writing skills with facilitation and stakeholder engagement.

You will work closely with global and regional members of Sprint Robotics, including asset owners, service providers, and technology developers to develop and write best practices, guidelines, standardized test metrics, and where applicable, contribute to the development of industry standards. You are equally comfortable and passionate about producing technically rigorous documentation and clear, compelling content for communication and outreach.

You will be part of an international, multidisciplinary environment that values collaboration, innovation, and real-world impact. You enjoy coordinating diverse stakeholders, translating complex technical topics into practical guidance, and supporting the adoption of new technologies through shared knowledge and structured programs.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Develop, write, curate, and maintain SPRINT Robotics’ Body of Knowledge, including best practices, guidelines, standardized test metrics, and reference frameworks
  • Contribute to the development of standards and recommended practices, in collaboration with industry SMEs and stakeholders
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, structured, and accessible written content
  • Produce both technical/process documentation
  • Engage with Subject Matter Experts in the industry and translate their knowledge and experience into clear content for the SPRINT Body of Knowledge and magazine.
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and governance of published knowledge assets
  • Facilitate and coordinate working groups, initiatives, meetings, and deliverables in person and virtually
  • Represent SPRINT Robotics at regional meetings, workshops, and industry events

 

Your profile

Required skills and qualifications

  • Background and experience in process industry, power or utility sector
  • Proven excellence in technical writing, with the ability to develop high-quality, structured documentation
  • Strong copywriting and communication skills, suitable for marketing, outreach, industry communications and the new SPRINT Robotics magazine
  • Demonstrated leadership and program management experience, preferably in a multiclient, consultancy, or collaborative environment
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical topics to diverse audiences
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, priorities, and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an international environment
  • A proactive, structured attitude with strong attention to detail and quality
  • Flexibility to work with global teams across different time zones
  • Relevant education at university level (e.g. Engineering, Technical Communication, Industrial Technology, or related fields)
  • Willing and able to travel.

 

The following experience/skills in any of the following fields are a plus:

  • Experience with inspection of pressure vessels, storage tanks, and industrial assets
  • Experience in inspection and maintenance robotics
  • Knowledge of asset integrity management practices
  • Understanding of operational deployment, testing, validation, and best practices for robotic inspection solutions
  • Exposure to industry standards, recommended practices, or joint industry initiatives
